Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
The eyes are the focal point of your face and the first place to show signs of aging. The appearance of your eyes is very important, because eyes are what most people focus on when having a conversation with you. As we age, some of us develop droopy eyelids and begin to look tired and older than our age. Oculoplastic surgery is a specialized field of surgery that involves intricate surgery of the upper and lower eyelids and the area surrounding the eyelids.
Your choices of various types of surgeons for facial and body cosmetic surgery are many, but when it comes to your eyelids, there is only one, an oculoplastic or ophthalmic plastic surgeon. Dr. Felder recommends that cosmetic eyelid surgery with an eyelid plastic surgeon is preferable to surgery performed by someone who specializes in surgery on various parts of the body. Fortunately, Dr. Felder, an oculoplastic surgeon, can improve your appearance with a custom cosmetic eyelid surgical procedure, which will remove the excess skin and bags from your eyelids, while ensuring a very natural appearance. A one hour procedure in our state of the art in-office surgical suite, can turn back the years.
Meet Dr. David S. Felder
Ptosis is a drooping of the upper eyelids due to a weakened or stretched eyelid muscle. It occurs when the eyelid falls and covers the pupil and blocks the upper portion of your vision. To surgically correct the ptosis or weak muscle, Dr. Felder can surgically reattach the muscle tendon or muscle to its proper position. It is performed in our in-office operating suite under IV Sedation or under local anesthesia.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Dr. Felder has been performing laser skin resurfacing since 1995. He began with the Sharplan CO2 laser in the mid-1990’s integrating this with his no scar no stitch lower eyelid transconjunctival blepharoplasty. While the healing time of the CO2 laser was lengthy, the results were unsurpassed. In 2009, Dr. Felder began using the newest technology, called Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing. Patients with any degree of sun damage are good candidates for laser resurfacing. Dr. Felder believes using the laser for skin tightening during his lower eyelid transconjunctival blepharoplasty, will give the best and most natural result.
Dr. Felder uses BOTOX® Cosmetic for cosmetic treatment of frown lines, Crows Feet, migraine headaches, and excessive underarm sweating(hyperhidrosis). BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments work by chemically relaxing the facial muscles that are related to facial expressions. This results in a more youthful appearance as the BOTOX® Cosmetic smoothes the dynamic wrinkles.
