The lower eyelids can be recontoured to look younger with the aid of a newer technique called transconjunctival blepharoplasty. There are many benefits to transconjunctival blepharoplasty as compared to the more traditional lower eyelid surgery method, and one of these relates to surgical marks.
After traditional lower eyelid surgery, which involves the outside of the eyelid, a mark must be camouflaged. With transconjunctival blepharoplasty, which involves an incision made on the inside of the lower eyelid, there are no visible surgical marks.
If you’d like to learn more about transconjunctival blepharoplasty or just eyelid surgery in general, contact us for a consultation. Dr. David Felder is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and will be happy to explain the procedure in greater detail.
